freedom in life and business

Stop complaining, and start living! Often people complain, stress or worry about not having enough time to do the things they love. So many people want to start a business, develop a new income stream or travel the world, but they just keep saying,

“I don’t have enough time”.

This is simply an excuse, rather you can create more freedom in your life. I quit my 9-5 job, traveled the world, became an entrepreneur, wrote a book and I have ultimate freedom over my life. My book Citizen of the World showcases fearlessness and courage as I embraced the unknown. I took a leap of faith outside of my comfort zone, and explored South America. After backpacking for 6 months ,there was no way I could settle back into life. A 9-5 did not appeal to me. How could I waste time working for someone else, when I could be discovering something new?

Being free made me feel alive.

So, I went back to University, in Israel. Despite everyone telling me not to go, and despite my own fears, I went. I explored the in and outs of the Palestinian conflict. Living in a real life conflict laboratory challenged me, and transformed me into an entrepreneur. What is stopping you from creating more freedom for you ? I will show you how I designed my own freedom, by being control of my life.

How do I get more freedom?

The Future of Work

Natalie Sisson says that we are already in the future of work. There are currently billions of people making money online, and creating freedom in their lives and businesses. There is no doubt that Millennials see work very differently than Baby Boomers. Millennials are already skeptical of working 9-5 jobs, as we want more time. We want time to travel, adventure, and 2 weeks of vacation time a year is not enough. The future of work is learning, adapting, and online. We no longer need tremendous capital and brick and mortar businesses are not the future. Chris Guillebeau, author of The $100 Startup showcases over 50 businesses that have started businesses with next to nothing. If you have a good idea, that you think people will pay for, you can start a business. Tools are readily available online, and by learning a few new skills, you can be in business. Nomad Entrepreneurs all over the internet showcase how they make thousands of dollars a month, online. Only your mindset is limiting you from learning new tools.

Freedom Business Ideas

How do you know which business idea of yours is truly a freedom business idea? The key to establishing a freedom business is automation. Transitioning yourself from self-employed, to a freedom business owner means delegating tasks. Start small by outsourcing tasks that are mundane or time consuming for you. Ask yourself where you’d rather spend your time, and find someone talented to do the things that are time consuming for you.

Upwork Freelance

Hiring freelancers through Up Work allows you to hire the best talent, from anywhere in the world. These freelancers are also small business owners so they are very professional and resourceful. Chances are they might do the job better than you, so you always learn something from the people you hire.

It’s easy to post a job, interview candidates, and hire them. Create more freedom for yourself by hiring people from all around the world. For example, I’ve hired my Editor in the United States, my book cover designer in India, my website guru in Ghana, and my assistant in Jamaica. One day I hope to meet my team in person, but working with people in different time zones has great advantages. My website guru works while I’m sleeping, so when I wake up, I can complete small tasks, but essentially my time is free to do other things. I spend my days hiking with my German Shepherd, kayaking through nearby lakes or skiing the slopes in the Canadian winters.
